The Department of Economics at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY invites applications for the position of Lecturer in Economics. The successful candidate will join a growing department whose research thrusts include the economics of innovation and technological change, applied microeconomics, behavioral and experimental economics, industrial organization, law and economics, environmental economics, and economic history. The candidate must be prepared to co-teach large intermediate courses in microeconomics, by adding a new course component that improves students’ writing and communication skills with support from the university’s Center for Communication Practices; and to teach other large and small undergraduate economics courses.

The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. or terminal degree (or its foreign equivalent) in Economics or a cognate discipline. Candidates must have teaching experience. Desired qualifications include an economics research record, demonstrated writing and editing skills, and a demonstrated commitment to teaching at the undergraduate level.
